Cloud Computing

What is Cloud Computing, anyway?

Before cloud computing, almost all companies stored and transmitted their information using a handful of on-site servers. Servers were pieces of hardware that had to be stored somewhere. They usually had their own room: the server room. A closet hidden away. They were large, costly, had limited storage & computing power, and were difficult to maintain. You may still own one or more of these servers. If you own one, we know your pain. We would like to offer a solution.

The cloud isn’t some magical place where great programs live. It’s actually a physical place, made up of very large groups of servers. There are thousands of servers residing in data centers located around the world. These data centers are owned and operated by companies who are experts in data storage and computing power. When information is stored on the cloud, it is split up between multiple servers so that your data is safer, easier to access, and costs less money for everyone involved. Data centers are heavily guarded and serious security precautions are taken to ensure the safety of your information.

Why bother? You’ll be able to go global, save money, shift your focus, increase storage and remain secure. Read on…
